Increased Power Output Through Superior Solar Energy Transmission

With XeroCoat’s patented anti-reflective coating on your module, the solar energy reaching your solar cells is increased by as much as 3% at noon and by as much as 6% at early morning and evening hours. This means that you can expect a 3% increase in power output on a peak watt basis, and a 4% increase in energy produced on a kWhr basis. This improvement is equivalent to increasing the efficiency of a solar cell by approximately 0.3-0.6% points, without having to modify the wafer or cell process.
At right is an example of a polycrystalline module, as-is, and using XeroCoat anti-reflective coating. With XeroCoat anti-reflective coating, module output power increases by 3% from 230 to 237 Watts while the cost per peak Watt decreases. For a module plant with a capacity of 100 MWp per year, using XeroCoat anti-reflective coating would deliver between $3 to $5 Million of additional net profit (depending on module efficiency).

XeroCoat’s process is a single layer liquid coating step followed by a low temperature curing step; a unique process that enables high–volume, low cost manufacturing.
Integrates Directly Into Module Manufacturing Process
XeroCoat’s patented process combines widely available, safe materials in novel ways and at low temperatures. Unlike other anti–reflective technologies that require acids or very high temperatures, XeroCoat's anti-reflective coating technology can be integrated directly into the module manufacturing process or operated as a stand-alone system.
