Dr. Paul Meredith
Co-Founder and Vice President of Materials Development Paul Meredith is a co-founder of XeroCoat and a founding Director of XeroCoat Pty Ltd. Together with Dr. Michael Harvey, he was responsible for developing the XeroCoat core technology. Paul has an Honors degree from the University of Wales in Physics and a Ph.D. in Physics and Optical Materials from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Following post-doctoral work at Cambridge University, he joined Proctor and Gamble as a Product Development Senior Scientist in 1995. In 2001, he returned to academia and joined the University of Queensland (UQ) Physics faculty where he built an internationally recognized materials physics group specializing in functional organic materials for applications such as organic solar cells. In 2005 he was awarded the prestigious UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award. He was appointed as a Queensland Smart State Senior Fellow in 2006. In 2008 he took a 1-year leave of absence from UQ and joined XeroCoat on a full time basis as VP of Materials Development and now manages the Australian R&D activity. He has authored a number of book chapters in optical thin films and materials physics, has published over 60 papers in international scientific journals, and is listed as inventor or co-inventor on 14 patents.
